Recovery from combustion residues

Even after waste incineration, valuable resources remain in bottom ash and slags. SMT processes these residues using state-of-the-art technology such as magnetic separation and eddy current separators to extract ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Recovered metals like iron, aluminium, and copper are returned to the recycling cycle, reducing the need for virgin raw materials.

The cleaned mineral fraction can be used as a secondary raw material in construction, for example in road building or as backfill. This ensures that valuable materials remain in circulation, landfill volumes are reduced, and the environmental footprint of waste treatment is minimised.
